I've generally found that if I can't find the manual and ask *them* to
read the message to me from their copy that they eventually learn to
read it before calling me. But when TFM tells them that it's self
explanatory[1], I can't blame them for panicking.
[1] I've certainly seen messages that actually were self explanatory,
but invariably those were *not* the ones that IBM claimed were
self explanatory.
