Are you sure that the DEFINE worked?
You didn't say whether this is an SMS managed volume. If it is, do your
ACS routines allow you to place the VVDS on the volume?
It isn't necessary to explicitly define the VVDS unless you want to
change the default allocation of TRK(5 5). IMHO your (30 2) is no
better than the default.
The VVDS does not necessarily have to be cataloged in the master
catalog. It has to be cataloged in every catalog that contains a
data set that is on that volume. You show a data set called
DSN120T.DSNDBD.AQDBBB1.AQIXOCIC.I0001.A001 on the volume. What
happens if you issue
TSO LISTC ENT('SYS1.VVDS.VHAW157') ALL CATALOG('user.catalog')
where user.catalog is the catalog that
DSN120T.DSNDBD.AQDBBB1.AQIXOCIC.I0001.A001 is cataloged in?
Try this: Allocate a data set that is cataloged in the master
catalog. Perhaps SYS1.GARBAGE. If it's an SMS managed volume, any
data set will be sufficient, but if it is non-SMS, it will have to
be a VSAM data set. Now what happens if you try to do a listcat of
the VVDS?
When you do manage to get a LISTCAT, what is the cluster name?
The data component name? The space allocation?
