This is the second attempt to send this since the first was rejected
somewhere I will only dig into if this also fails - but with less
equanimity.

Actually, I'll try to disguise the word "sp*m" and its derivatives in order
to see if that is the cause of the "barf".

I would say that *all* sp*mmers want to sell you something, even if for some
it's salvation.

As for what purpose most sp*m serves, it's only immense irritation, as you
observe. However, you use the word "most". The "business model" is in the
(very) small residue who actually "bite", so 1 in a million of a thousand
million is good business.

Or so I hear. I do my best not even to be offered any tempting bait and
mostly - with the help of my ISP - it works.
