Thanks Radoslaw, We can copy the files from DASD to DASD at more than 80MB/sec per volume pair, and in this case we are using multiple DASD volumes and FICON paths.
Sorry, thanks for querying the processor model. It is actually a z9 (2094- 706) with 10 active LPARs. I agree that IQD should be fast enough not to be a bottleneck, but has anyone actually seen aggregate FTP throughput rates of more than 25MB/sec in z/OS environment.
