I noticed some time ago that not all IBMers are listed on http://whois.ibm.com
For example, Mark Thomen is one of them.
In fact, I spoke with three IBMers (all of them in the U.S.) in recent weeks
who are NOT listed on that site, and nobody was able to explain to me why
some IBMers aren't listed.
Does anyone on this list has any idea why some IBMers can't be found on the
http://whois.ibm.com site ?
IBMers can opt-out of being listed there. Some, for example, believe
that spammers can harvest email addresses from IBM's whois site, and
choose to opt-out to help reduce the amount of spam they receive.
Others may opt-out to avoid having their phone number made publicly
available, thus reducing potential interruptions during the work day.
By default all IBMers are listed, as far as I know, and they must
explicitly opt-out to become unlisted.
