ED, I think you are completely mischaracterizing SHARE. I attend SHARE regularly and do not hesitate to mention something to IBM if I feel that it is important, and neither do other SHARE members I know. SHARE is a partnership with IBM, and the result has been ongoing improvements in a wide range of products that SHAE members use and IBM produces. SHARE is not perfect, but it works effectively, IMHO.
You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but I personally have never seen you at SHARE in the 99 meetings I have attended. Adam, While at times they did slip usually GUIDE/SHARE sent them a notice and most of the time IBM got the message. They (IBM) made a statement at OCO time that all messages were to be documented For the most part for a few years they were . Now they have reneged on their word and it seems I am the only one holding their feet to the fire. Where is SHARE? they are afraid to raise their voice to IBM. Share is now a gofor for IBM. The management at SHARE is afraid to say one word to IBM as they might pull out. Frankly it would be better if SHARE got a spine but I don't see it happening any time soon.
