Mark, You might try looking at WWW.CBTTAPE.ORG and see what they might have
to replace your function. 1989 is a long time ago and not sure what level
of operating system you upgraded from.

We have not seen an issue with any listcat function at z/OS V1.7

<------- Snip ----------
We upgraded to z/OS V1R7. We have a program which retrieves a list of
gdg's and produces an output file which has the gdg's in the proper
sequence for concatenation. The program is now abending with a SOC4. I
do not have the source and I am not sure if this was written in-house or
a share ware code. The eye catcher in the load module says it was
assembled in 1989. I am assuming the program is performing some type of
listcat and reading through the output to find the gdg's. I think IBM
has made some changes with the listcat output and this is causing the
program to abend.

I am sure there is a system parm which makes this program obsolete. I am
not sure what the option is. Does anyone have a program which does this
and could provide the source.

Any help would be appreciated.
