My memory is a bit sketchy, but in a previous life we had an Oracle Net task running on OS/390, thus allowing you to code Oracle SQL statements directly in Cobol. I believe such programs were also linked with an Oracle Stub... I am not sure if this setup still exists/works today with z/OS and do not know what the cost is for running Oracle Net (I would assume it isn't free!).

Is there a way to accomplish the above. We need to be able to do a SELECT statement from CICS and batch to an Oracle database which resides on a Unix box.
