Both UNKNIDS and INTIDS were ignored in consolxx (iea196 with reason code 3,
which isn't in the 1.8 books anymore). I could vary that attribute on the
1.8 system for all consoles, no matter where they are active. I cannot vary
that attribute on my 1.6 system, and these attributes are not shown on a D C
in 1.6. Given that they are probably in the couple data set, I am (not)
looking forward to an IPL of my 1.6 system that will probably stutter when
it hits these attributes.

Shouldn't be a problem assuming all the compatibility maintenance is applied.

I know I manually added the attributes when I IPLed the first system in my
test plex. I think I did so after a warning from the migration checker
utility. http://www-03.ibm.com/servers/eserver/zseries/zos/downloads/

We routinely swap back and forth between 1.6 and 1.8 on the
2 systems in that sandbox plex. Right now, "system #1" is 1.8 and
"system #2" is 1.6. If I display the master console on system #1 for
system #2, it still shows "INTIDS=Y UNKNIDS=Y". If I issue the same
display from system #2 for the same console it displays the console
but doesn't show those attributes.
