Sorry, I should have been more clear. I am referring to SENDER that
notes uses for coloring. It takes that from the PRINCIPAL field which
is the original poster's address when you are set to MAIL in listserv.
And because I hate to admit defeat <g>, I did get this to work doing as I
suggested by using an agent. But for some reason the trigger for the
agent of "on event" - "After new mail has arrived" doesn't seem to
work (maybe a bug in my client or something to do with the server
version vs. client version). I used to use triggers like this to move
emails to other folders, but haven't since "rules" were allowed.
Here is what I initially did. I set up an agent to:
Trigger "on event" - "After new mail has arrived"
Document selection: Field contains any of IBM-MAIN,ibm-main
AND in folder Inbox
Action: Modify field PRINCIPAL (sender) set to [email protected]
For some reason the agent wasn't running when new mail arrived though
(I could see this by trying to view the agent log), so I changed it from event
driven to run on a scheduled basis - once per minute. That worked.
You can then color the messages the way you want by sender and when you
use REPLY, it will go to the list.
The only draw back is that you can't reply directly to the poster nor
tell who it really was if they don't use a signature line since the PRINCIPAL
(sender) which is displayed under "who" in the preview pane, is being
modified to IBM-MAIN.
Regards,
Mark
