There is no legal precedent preventing someone from Bookmaking a website

They were probably meaning that they didn't want other websites directly
linking to that page. Either that or they are planning to change the
URL soon and are saying that as a warning about the change.

Personally, bookmark what ever site you want, it is your business not
theirs. If a company or website doesn't like it, they probably need to
relax some.

I am *GUESSING* that IBM is doing (indicating this) as url's change and they don't want to be yelled at for changing them. Some people (including me sometimes) get upset because an important piece of information gets changed and can no longer be found. I think I understand both sides of the issue and wish there was an easy answer.

I know a few times I have found a piece of information that was discussed at a meeting and wanted to forward it to the other people involved so they could read/understand what IBM is saying. Frankly what I have done is to copy/paste the entire page into the email with a note with the current url and a small sentence saying it was valid at one time.

I know that it may not be legal but with on the fly url changes that is the only way I have been able to cope with these. If someone else has a better idea, I would love to hear about it.
