Yes!

We've been running the z/OS Bind 9.x DNS server as our primary name
server for several years now. It works quite nicely, and doesn't seem
to be operationally much different from running Bind on any other
platform. About the only time we need to touch the name server is when
we need to update the zone databases.

(For backup we run a secondary name server on an AIX box in a remote
office.)
