All the IBM compilers and the Assembler have accepted lowercase
code now for over a decade. After spending a lot of time on the
internet, uppercase code seems like shouting to me, not to
mention that various studies indicate that mixed case text is
more rapidly understood than all upper case.
It seems to me the value of register equates has been lessened
with the advent of the register cross reference. And 8 characters
no longer seems high on the priority list to me when I can code
more meaningful / understandable labels.
