Sharing data across a network only works well for very small files and
PC's. So, if you have lots of little files to share between a MF and
PC's, NFS may be an option for you.

Next up is a scheduled, coordinated FTP of selected files. Problem here
is getting updates back to the source files.

The coordinated sharing of data is what database managers do and why
people buy them. This is not a trivial undertaking in many cases.

Good luck

Subject: File sharing between Sysplex's

Hi All

I am busy researching the possibilities of moving data between 2
Sysplex's primarily for Application folks,
In the current plan only 3590 drives would be shared but in discussion
the option of NFS came up.

Looking further DFS/SMB and NFS both seem to be options.

Has anyone had some experience with both?, are there data size limits
within either ?.

What would be the simplest to mange ?.
