Hi All
I am busy researching the possibilities of moving data between 2
Sysplex's primarily for Application folks,
In the current plan only 3590 drives would be shared but in discussion
the option of NFS came up.
Looking further DFS/SMB and NFS both seem to be options.
Has anyone had some experience with both?, are there data size limits
within either ?.
What would be the simplest to mange ?.
It depends. As usually. <g>
What are your needs ?
If you want simply write data on one sysplex and read it on another,
then shared DASD is IMHO best option. Simplest to establish, least
overhead.
If you want to share HFS files, then I would go to NFS.
DF/SMB ? Well. z/OS can be a server, but I never heard about z/OS as a
SMB client. Did I miss something ?
