In my opinion: No. I don't see *any* need to clone a logr CDS *ever*, much less

Please describe what you mean by 'clone'.

That's the point. I was "ambigous". I didn't clarify what "the clone" means. In this case, I need to create working copy of existing environment (system, application and DATA). Why do I need this ? Testing purposes. Everything has to be copied up to single transaction (OK, that's requirement I've got).

So I want to create copy of existing environment (with data) and preserve Logger data as well. In this case copying CDS does make sense (IMHO) and works.

To me, 'cloning' means setting up a new system that has never been IPL'd
before. Once you have cloned a system, that system starts from scratch, with
fresh data sets, newly allocated after IPL/start of logr/start of application
using the log stream. There is no need to copy over another systems CDS, no
matter what type. Part of the cloning process must be making sure that you use
the correct sysplex definitions. A new system should always start from scratch
with regard to the sysplex defs, indicating a complete cold start.
In this meaning I fully agree with your point.
