I got Isaacson's book for Christmas. It's  pretty good and includes 
Einstein's personal papers only released in 2006.  

Einstein was a thinker  most of all  dealing with morphing our knowledge of 
the universe with actual behavior. Many  of his theories required advanced math 
and he would often get help from  friends and colleagues at Princeton.
