I have never worked in a jes3 environment but I seem to recall that resources were scheduled for the entire job when it is started vs. when each job step is started in a jes2 environment. That may be why you continued to see new datasets on the volumes for a while. > Kindly correct me if I am wrong, in the future instead of > performing the DISNEW at the ISMF level, it would be preferable that > I issued the command (via console) for each pack as you had suggested. Using the operator command is quick and easy. The hard part is remembering that you changed the status dynamically. If you have not reclaimed the volume(s), activating a new configuration will undo the effects of the command.
