Rob, We are going to work on a TRACE. We transmitted the same file every time z/OS is involved in the tests but a different file was used between the PC and the LINUX server. Are you suspecting the content of the file?

I would compare the "path" between the pc->linux and mainframe->linux and look for the differences. My guess is there is a firewall/router in the path that is misbehaving... but then there are so many wonderful things that can happen on a network. I think the packet trace is a good idea as well. Just another thought.. are you transmitting the same file in each of the tests?
