Personally, I have always viewed the single HFSPlex as a deficiency. There are so few items in z/OS that only allow "one" and present themselves as a single point of failure. I would like it much better if it allowed for multiple within a plex... similar to running multiple JES2's where you supply a plex name to allow them to co-exist. That way I could have one for tech systems, one for development and one for production. In the face of something unexpectedly bad happening.. then the scope of impact is contained.
