Most errors that I have seen on virtual tape that would make sense only on a physical tape were due to the VTS not being able to restage the virtual volume back to the TVC (e.g. stacked volume stuck in drive)
-----Original Message----- Lizette Koehler I have a production job down due to an S413 abend on a VTS (virtual) tape data set. I was wondering if this is a hardware problem or if there is something I can do to "fix" the tape. I have no additional error messages other than the EQC. Can a back end copy be used to recover the dataset?
