Since the Hafas software allows the person using the site to plan a
door to door trip that can involve public transit agencies,
considerable ability to access databases and look things up is needed.
My guess is that it requires considerable compute power. That was why
I was astounded when a poster on another group made the statement that
this ran on Linux on a mainframe. If true this could give us quite a
talking point since people on the rail newsgroups I frequent claim
that Hafas for Deutsche Bahn is one of the better sites for trip
planning and getting rail travel information including transit
connections. It IS accessible in English, French, obviously German
and several other languages. Notes on Z doesn't impress me, Hafas
timetable and trip planning software does.
