used to be called Teknekron Software Systems, a competitor to Reuters Financial services. they had a relatively nimble product then called TIB (Teknekron Information Bus) that provided real-time digital feed, along with a 'portal' called MarketSheet.

then Reuters bought them. their competing distribution platform then was Triarch.

then they renamed the company based on their product (TIBCO)

supporting TIB/MarketSheet was somewhat difficult when calling Reuters help desk. when asking about instrument symbols, Triarch uses the dot '.' as the prefix while TIB uses caret '^'.
