Yes.  I hope the PTF is not for a product that requires an IPL.

You apply the PTF to a different target zone.  Then, after the APPLY is
successful, you create a new LNKLST set, replacing the data sets) with the
one(s) from the new target zone and activate it.  New jobs will use the new
linklist set.

UPDATE JOB(*) should *only* be considered if currently running address
spaces need the updated libraries.  There is a risk in using it.

What kind of product are you updating?
