Thought I'd try here as well...
Cics person having a question...problem...

Have an ESDS file causing some performance problems in a CICS region
(Region is T.S. 2.3 if that matters). The ESDS file does 900,000 to 1.4
million add request per day (no other processing is done except adds).
This is causing 1.4 to 2 million Data Excp's per day. The Data CI size is
4096 and the VSAM definitions specify a maxrecordsize of 2075. When I look
at the actual records being added, most of them are 101 or 178 bytes with
maybe 1/4th being the max of 2075. I do have the CICS definitions with 1
string to avoid locking/enqued CI's for multiple transactions processing.

I would expect the CI to hold 10-30 records, but for some reason we're
doing more EXCP's than records being inserted. I suspect something odd in
the application is causing this, but not sure where to begin looking. Any
help would be greatly appreciated.
