FYI - starting with SAS Version 8, there are no special requirements in an
SMS environment, as was the case with SAS V6 involving pre-allocating
multi-volume datasets.  

I support several very large MICS and MXG SAS environments, all of which
play quite nicely with DFSMS.  Also, if you still have GUARANTEED_SPACE=YES
specified for SAS databases (feeling that uncomfortable bloat?), change it
back to NO, as SAS Support has documented.

Do consider that a SAS database needing to be allocated > 65K tracks per
volume requires SAS 9.1.3 SP4 plus additional maintenance.  It's much easier
to use UNIT=(SYSDA,nn) and be aware that the additional volume allocations
will have an initial allocation of the "secondary amount" of the first volume's 
SPACE=(CYL,(pppp,ssss)).
