It's not crazy, it's just that it would be a TON of work, with unproven requirement/return, and where most folks would say "Run in an IFL". "Where the data is" doesn't really do much for me -- an IFL in the same box over HiperSockets isn't very far away, and offers all the usual benefits of z.
