Walter,
I can't really speak to CA's policies of course, but I can tell you that
we have CA-Disk (and a couple other CA products) and we send CA our
SCRTs quarterly for billing.
Essentially, we have a "baseline" MSU level with CA and we are invoiced
annually based on that MSU for the year. If the SCRT reports show we
have exceed our MSU baseline, we are invoiced some amount per MSU over
our base for each month we have exceeded the number. We of course
receive no credits for being under our baseline.
We have the option of raising our baseline ahead of time, rather than
being billed after the fact.
So, I don't know if this was some sort of special deal for us, or
business as usual for CA, but it is not impossible to have subcapacity
pricing for CA-Disk.

Hello list,
I would like to ask your estimated opinion about the eligibility of CA
products for Subcapacity pricing model.
At the end of last year we had a meeting with two CA sales managers who
confirmed the above statement.
Ever since, we send to CA the SCRT Report via e-mail.
Searching the archives I also read more than once that CA products are
eligible for the Subcapacity model,
although I've neverread if only some products apply, or all.
A couple of days ago we received an e-mail from a third CA sales manager
telling us the opposite. That is,
our products (CA-Sort, CA-1, CA-Disk) do *not* apply to this pricing
model. ("they belong to the 'infrastructure
management products' group, therefore are not eligible for 'Measured
Workload Pricing").
What leaves me without words is that something which appeared to be
valid only 12 months ago seems
now completelychanged.
Is there anyone who can comment on this and tell his/her experience ?
