Thanks Sam! I'll sign up for it, but let me tell you, between two very kind folks here and myself, I have exactly what I need for today. Man, *that* was a challenge!

I have hit upon the read password to maint 2cc. So where can I find the user directory now? I'm having trouble finding it still...apologies for the ignorance, it's been a hundred years since I've poked around VM, so I am having to learn my way around again. Do you have access to the MAINT account, or the privileges to look at the CP directory for the guest? That will be important in figuring out what you're seeing. > I am getting this: > > IPL CMS > DMSIND2015W Unable to access system disk. In your position, I would ask the z/VM systems programmer for a "CMS user" userid. Also, if you're going to try to learn more about z/VM, in addition to Ed Jaffe's pointer to the SHARE presentation, I would recommend subscribing to the IBM-VM mailing list. Lots of very experienced VMers there, and an increasing number of people new to z/VM are coming in and asking questions. You would fit right in.
