I used to use MXG and SAS in a production shop many moons ago. It worked
quite well at the time. Thanks for reminding me, I will look into it.

Well allmost. 
There is MXG, that has mappings of most SMF records and can put them
into a SAS database. Possibly it can also put them into a DB2 database
(I don't know) and it requires SAS.
