Actually this isn't to hard, but will need a couple of different tools in conjunction together 1) you need to parse out the SMF records to a flat file, (Depending on which SMF record and which field you want (or all the fields) that is comma delimited. (you can do this very easily do this using File-AID MVS. In fact we have the XREF/copybooks for the SMF records (last time I checked from our hotline) 2)Then have a utility to read the SMF CSV to load into the DB2 tables. (and yes File-AID DB2 can do this) If you are a client of Compuware fell free in contacting your local hotline (north America 1-800-538-7822 outside north America please refer to frontline.compuware.com for the local hotline number) Robert Galambos CIPP/C CIPP/IT Compuware Senior Technical Specialist IBM Certified Database Associate IBM Certified DB2 9 for z/OS Database Administration Certified Information Privacy Professional/Canada Certified Information Privacy Professional/Information Technology [email protected] Tel: +1 905 886 7000 Toll Free: +1 800 263 7189 Fax: +1 905 886 7023 Quebec: +1 877-281-1888 The contents of this e-mail are intended for the named addressee only. I was poking around in the manuals and saw some things about possibly putting the SMF data related to RACF into DB/2 tables, and it got me wondering. Is there a tool that will convert *all* SMF record types and put them into DB/2 tables? That would be awesome if there were.
