"Should?" They 'should' be whatever best fits your environment. Having worked with both, I prefer the VB/255 format, which works well with my 43X132 display. Generally, I don't extend data beyond 124 columns, as that's what edit normally displays. That's 72% longer displayed data than the 80-column displays allow, allowing for nicely formatted code most of the time.
