But since z/OS 1.6 there is IBM distributed object deck in SYS1.SAMPLIB(IEASYMUP). We link it as a usermod into SYS1.LINKLIB. Although, I've never used it except on my sandbox LPARs. I don't recall if IEASYMUP is documented anywhere other than the SYMUPDTE documentation from the Redbook.
