Suggest you download DAF (Dataset Audit Facility) from CBT and get a definitive answer for when the file was deleted and by whom. Also what was the DISP for the job allocating the file? I once clobbered a file even though it was in use. Since the DISP was SHR, the answer from IBM was WAD.
