I believe referenced usually means OPENED. I had a similar problem a few
years back when we IPL'ed a system that had not been down in about 6
months. HSM came up first, and deleted some files related to Netview.

Quite correct, Todd. OPEN processing updates the last-referenced date in
the Format-1 DSCB in the VTOC.
DAF is a tool that should be available in every shop; it borders on
indespensible for these kinds of researches.
