We replaced a channel attached IBM 3160 with an Ethernet attached HP 9000 (I think) on a Multiprise 2003 using OS/390 2.10. We are still using it. We had to get the special chip (not from HP) that converted JES/PSF traffic to whatever the HP uses. We also switched from the APSWPROA to the APSWPROT proc (other than the last letter, I'm not certain about the proc names). But since both were laser printers I don't think they used commands like backspace.

Does anyone know if the PSF printer will support the channel attached local printer commands, like backspace, restart, etc? The fun part is that this is a really old os/390 2.10 system, and PSF 2.2 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
