We replaced a channel attached IBM 3160 with an Ethernet attached HP
9000 (I think) on a Multiprise 2003 using OS/390 2.10. We are still
using it. We had to get the special chip (not from HP) that converted
JES/PSF traffic to whatever the HP uses. We also switched from the
APSWPROA to the APSWPROT proc (other than the last letter, I'm not
certain about the proc names). But since both were laser printers I
don't think they used commands like backspace.

Subject: PSF printer question

I have an old channel attached printer I want to replace with a PSF
printer defined with an IP Address.

Does anyone know if the PSF printer will support the channel attached
local printer commands, like backspace, restart, etc?

The fun part is that this is a really old os/390 2.10 system, and PSF
2.2
