Rex - and Hal

Actually, it was a summary sheet, a "redtip", rather than a redbook or even a
redpaper.

I imagined that Hal wanted a reference indicating that OSC and OSE (or OSD)
could be combined.

I had a quick look in the two manuals you mentioned but couldn't find any
specific statement on that matter.

The URLs are as follows:

http://publibz.boulder.ibm.com/cgi-bin/bookmgr_OS390/BOOKS/IOA2Z170/

System z10, System z9 and eServer zSeries, Open Systems Adapter-Express,
Customer's Guide and Reference, SA22-7935-10

http://publibz.boulder.ibm.com/cgi-bin/bookmgr_OS390/BOOKS/IOA2M110/

System z9 and eServer zSeries z890 and z990, Open Systems Adapter-
Express Integrated Console Controller User's Guide, SA22-7990-01

Rather oddly, they are to be found in the OSA/SF bookshelf for any level of
z/OS:

http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/z/os/zos/bkserv/zshelvesX.html

where the "X" near the end just before ".html" needs to be set to the release
in which you are interested.

In addition, you may want to have the corresponding redbooks to hand:

http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/abstracts/sg245948.html

OSA-Express Implementation Guide, SG24-5948-05

http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/abstracts/sg246364.html

OSA-Express Integrated Console Controller Implementation Guide, SG24-6364-
01

I checked these two also hoping to find that elusive specific statement - no
luck!
