HI, All your questions easily can be handle. And of course when I talked about the idea of the utility I did not describe the full functionality of the product in details because this utility is not exist yet.
And in one of the previous email I describe that I will check for the user if other new files used is files extensions ( >>This going to be simple process, no backup or any complicate process. If the file is overwrite, just tell >>the user that you are sorry but part of the file is dead. ) . My solution is not perfect, but is another try, to maybe, to recover or help to recover the deleted file, or at least let the user receive the file location in a disk and enable him to allocate a new file which hold the old file location. This was only thinking, sorry, I did not yet implement the utility, only I checked and verify that this can be done in MVS as it done in other platform. All what I wanted to know is if the IBM users, in this forum, think that MVS users can use this utility sometimes if they do not have any other options to restore the file. Or to handle the problem as it done in the old days, meaning list all the cylinders and tracks of all the volumes to try to check each of thousands tracks if the data look familiar, the same as the file which was deleted by mistake.
