So start by looking in Vantage at Trends and Forecasting. Try to see where the biggest POOLS are and whether or not they have unused space. Then begin with DCOLLECT and MXG and start to see what is on L0/ML1/ML2 and normal Tape (not HSM tapes) the datasets.datasets PDB is where you need to look for that. See how your ACS routines are set up and how your Migration policies are set. The biggest problem will be to setup SLAs with your end users. How many test regions do they need and how long do they need to keep them. Reduction can happen with simple changes which might the retentions of certain datasets like ISPF temp files or Sort files. If you have DB2 have your DBAs check out the DSNDB07 files. And Reorgs are also helpful in reducing space.
