               Thanks for the good information.

I think I'm SOL.  99% of the work in the PAS comes from other SASs via XMS PC 
calls and gets routed to long running SRBs via wait/post.  So there is no way a 
dump is going to be timely as these will keep running.  My own trace data 
wasn't dumped until 10 seconds after the SPER event by which time everything 
had moved on and many of the traces had wrapped.

I guess I could introduce code into my PC routine to check if a dump is in 
progress and wait a short time and then retest? I had a look at the ASCB/ASXB 
and didn't see any likely things to test. Is there a bit/byte a piece of code 
to detect if a dump is in progress? Hopefully without too much path length as 
this code is heavily used.
