Yup.  I was thinking, for reference, about a demountable disk pack.  Clearly 
the USB
socket needs a little claw to grasp the stick until it's logically unmounted.

"...do a CD/DVD >eject while..."  How?  Physically yank it out of the slot?  Or 
eject
it with Exploder?  OS X won't let you do that while files are open.  Can 
Windows be
so stupid?  I thought the mechanical eject button was disabled while the volume
was mounted.
