No, if you had ISO images, you needed to burn physical disks.  Then you would 
boot the special install disk, after issuing the appropriate OpenBoot PROM 
command.  And  you needed to boot from a CDROM drive that had a certain special 
capability, something that most PC drives lacked.  Even though this was 
supposedly an "Open System",  1998 was still the era of closed hardware as far 
as Sun was concerned.


This is all to the best of my recollection, since the last time I did this was 
back in 2001.  Anyone want to buy a bunch of SparcStation 4's and 5's?  How 
about the Sun 22 inch monitor - it must weigh 75 lbs? ;-)
