That is an option but shouldn't the issuer of the IDC message tell
who has it .
I have had issue with this over the years and its a hassle to
scramble to figure it out. On the other hand if they used indd and
outdd it really is better as GRS or replacement would be happy to
tell who.

It turned out that a job had the file allocated, but never
actually used it. That's why it doesn't show up in any SMF records.
We determined the culprit by looking at jobs that started running
before and ending after.
But I agree that IDCAMS should show WHO has the job allocated.
Add a TSOBATCH job with WHOHAS command in it?
