Thanks to everyone for the responses (Allan, Mike, Barbara, Mark and Doug).
> But first: Have you checked the archives? Most of the checks you talk about > here I have complained about in the past. Documented in the archives. Yes. But, when I saw your question, I've searched even more thoroughly, so now I've read about 30-40 posts on the subject here (used Google Groups search though..). Haven't found actualy what I was looking for, but it's nice to know I'm not the only one ranting ;) Check: ASM_LOCAL_SLOT_USAGE Adding more locals is always an option (again), my question was more on experiences people have with locals on WebSphere LPARs. We're using quite large locals (as big as the DASDs they are located on - 10k CYLS, one full model 9 3390 DASD). Does it make sense to also add more physical storage? (WebSphere seems a bit acquisitive :o) How much locals do others have on WebSphere LPARs? How many servers are running there? Barbara - your suggestion on increasing the INTERVAL makes sense - thanks. Check: GRS_CONVERT_RESERVES It seems it's still unclear is converting reserves + proper RNL exclusions enough.. Also, is it worth it performance wise? Doug, did you also exclude JES2 volumes? Check: XCF_SIG_STR_SIZE Mike & Barbara - don't you loose definitions if you start the sysplex with an empty CDS? You would then have to re-apply all policies? How would the first system IPL without a proper CFRM policy? :) IPL into monoplex -> submit policy jobs -> reIPL into sysplex? Mark - This check doesn't present any problem (as mentioned - doesn't even raise an exception). It's more a question of how to reduce MAXSYSTEMS in a sysplex which has grown smaller in time. Check: IXGLOGR_ENTRYTHRESHOLD Barbara - does this mean AUTOALTER can/should (by IBM) be used for list structures? (Sorry, I can't find a good reference on this). Related to my comment under the RRS_MUROFFLOADSIZE - wonder what would happen if I manage to alter the LS_SIZE of the RRS logstream. Has anyone managed to do this - change LS_SIZE of an active logstream, while there are active connections to it? Once again, thanks everyone for your input!
