I'd forgotten about Richards, though when I went to refresh my memory I
found that Wikipedia seems to dispute your "max-security" assertion:

nt

In 2000, when CA bought Sterling, Sanjay came down to Virginia for a
dog-and-pony to tell us how wonderful it was all going to be. There were
about 150 people in the room; Richards was not one of them. Within a year,
two of those 150 were in federal prisons. That always struck me as (I hope!)
statistically unlikely.

(The other was Scott Tyree, with whom I worked, and who had seemed no odder
than the average geek.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alicia_Kozakiewicz#Abduction for the sordid
story.)

On a lighter note, the best part of the dog-and-pony was when Sanjay asked
for questions. Some of the founders of Sterling also founded the Michaels
craft stores, and every January Sterling employees all found a 10%
discount card in their mailboxes. One of the Sterling guys-an infamous
joker-stood up and asked Sanjay if we'd still get our Michaels discount
cards. He clearly had ZERO idea what this was about, but we sure enjoyed it.
