Every time my boss asked me if we were bringing too many FDRSAR tapes, I told him that he will never hear me say that there are too many, only that there are not enough. The ta he pulled were generally actual backup tapes. If our procedures for recovering from logs weren't documented well enough to use them during D/R, then we wanted to know before the balloon went up.
