If you've ever looked at an IMS FORMAT library, you'd see all manner of 
unprintable member names.So I'd confirm that STOW accepts anything.

Probably BLDL, LINK, ...My old site used to name modules as: MODULE$ - new 
version MODULE# - current version MODUEL@ - old versionThe new module was 
linked in to the library as MODULE$ then to install a few renames (interactive 
or batch):  MODULE# -> MODULE@  MODULE$ -> MODULE#and restart the effected 
process.backing it out was the
