Rather than get into a discussion that probably doesn't interest anyone here, we should make this about the problem Dave Cole is interested in solving. This is more about making sure he has considered things like sub-shells and other things he might have overlooked. I'm sure he'll ask if something piques his interest and he wants more clarification.
