Similar trends are also happening in South Africa. If you want to be filthy
stinking rich, go live and work in Johannesburg, Sandton area to be precisely.
Most rich IT companies are there - but they have a somewhat high staff turnover.

Turnover is the result of greedy employees, but crime, bad traffic, crime, high
cost of living, crime and expensive housings (and once more: crime!!!) are
amongst the main reasons.

Pretoria, Centurion and Cape Town also have a lot of IT companies - there
things are more laidback.

Where I'm living in Centurion, the area is not too bad, but is becoming growing
from a big town to a big city in itself, but there are no buildings higher than
10 stories here around. Generally, I like this area - lots of houses, shopping
centres, parks, lots of trees, etc. I drive, for example, past a milk farm [1]
to my work everyday. About 20 kilometers from my home there is a game reserve
park (one of several) [2] with rhinoceroes and lots of birds and a dam where
you can angle at leisure.

There are at least 6 big dams where you can angle all within 100-150 kilometers
from where I live.

So, I'm also like Dave, absolutely too reluctant to move at all. ;-D
