Or you could ask your Storage Admin. to have SMS intercept the allocation and assign a dataclass with multiple volumes and a storage group with sufficient space.

What is REALLY needed is to get rid of the absurd requirement to specify the amount of storage to allocate for datasets! The system should allocate/reallocate according to what is needed in the actual/immediate need for the dataset without dumping the problem to the user! (Of course limited by appropriate resource constraints.) <SARCASM> But maybe it's so complicated to construct such a solution that IBM needs to consult the Windows programmers ? :E </SARCASM> Regards Thomas Berg ____________________________________________________________________ Thomas Berg Specialist z/OS\RQM\IT Delivery SWEDBANK AB (Publ) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
